Settlements plan sparks protest

Benjamin Netanyahu announced his intention last week to annex Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine, if he is elected for another term as prime minister. In response Quakers in Britain are restating their 2014 call to the UK government to honour its commitment to the two-state solution and recognise the state of Palestine without delay.

Brexit needs cooperation not conflict

Amid political disarray and confusion, Quakers, among many others, are turning to quiet reflection. Today (Friday) should have been the day that the UK left the European Union. But Parliament has not agreed the best way forward. Tonight, an online Europe-wide dispersed meeting for worship will mark the moment Brexit was expected to take place (midnight Brussels time).

Renewing the Quaker community's story

A group of Quakers has been tasked to revise the book of discipline that has guided Quaker witness, community and worship across the centuries. In a bid to include voices, experiences and identities that reflect the full breadth and depth of Quakers in Britain today, the revision committee draws on Quakers across a range of occupations, abilities, ages and gender. Two of the committee are under 18.
